Powder Alert: Snowy Saturday & Super Sunday

Summary

There will be an active snow pattern for the first part of your holiday weekend with abundant snowfall. Expect a powder day on Saturday with lots of snowfall. The snowfall will extend into Sunday but start to ease as high pressure builds into the region. There will be additional clearing for Monday and into at least the middle of next week. The great news is snow levels (SL) will be relatively low through the holiday weekend. Although the SL will be near 3,000 ft on Saturday, the SL will drop further on Sunday and Monday for improving quality snowfall as the snow tapers off. Higher pressure will move in producing a dry trend for Monday into at least Thursday

Short Term Forecast

Saturday will be a powder day with snow falling much of the day. When you arrive there will be 2-4” new, but during the day another 3-7” will fall, with another 2-6” by Sunday morning with the SL will be 1,500ft – YOWZA, that is fantastic. Expect another 2-3” during the day on Sunday. There is a Powder Alert for Saturday and Sunday. The lingering snowfall on Sunday will provide a nice refresh during the day.

Extended Forecast

High pressure will build in for Monday with partly to mostly sunny skies. It will a fine day with wonderful groomers and excellent off-piste, considering al the previous snowfall. I am fairly confident much of next week will see dry, sunny weather, but we may see a chance of snow by later Friday or Saturday.
