More Bonus Days

Summary

Wild Mtn has announced they will provide a bonus day this week, with the total now at four resorts in the Twin Cities region reopening. A few other resorts have announced the season's final day, with who remains open beyond April 7th in limbo.

Update

I do my best to update as resorts open and close but be sure to check ahead as things often change daily!

Snow Chances Thursday, March 28 to Sunday, April 7

North Shore Lake Superior

What an excellent past few days on the slopes for the region, with daily refreshes and powder turns!

  • Mont du Lac has announced a bonus day on Saturday!
  • Lutsen and Giants Ridge are open daily through April 7

Thursday: Temps will be slightly milder than the past few days but conditions should be excellent with soft groomers and powder stashes for anything left ungroomed.

Friday - Saturday: A rain/snow mix remains likely with a little bit of new snow possible for the MN resorts. It looks as though this system will mainly remain south of the Thunder Bay resorts with just light snow showers possible.

Sunday and Beyond: Models have trended further south with the system early next week followed by warmer temps and spring-like conditions on the slopes. It remains uncertain who will be open after April 7th in this region.

South Shore Lake Superior

  • Searchmont back open Friday

Thursday: The webcams at Snowriver showed snow showers at times Wednesday night, though there's no official snow report from them yet Thursday AM. Thursday will be slightly warmer, but groomers should be in good shape thanks to recent natural snow.

Friday - Saturday: A rain/snow mix remains likely with a little bit of new snow possible for Snowriver and Ski Brule. The snow likely does not arrive until during the day and/or evening at Searchmont on Saturday, so a little fresh snow could be had on Sunday.

Sunday and Beyond: Rain/snow mix early next week now likely remains to the south of the region for the most part with a warming trend next week.

Twin Cities Region

  • Andes Tower Hills, Trollhaugen, Wild Mtn, and Buck Hill have announced bonus days!
  • Thursday: Expect a decent amount of sunshine and temps in the 30s
  • Chance of rain/snow mix Friday PM into Sat AM
  • Afternoon temps in the 30s and 40s on Friday and Saturday
    • These warm temps will make for soft spring-like conditions

Grooming at Troll is looking prime, here is an image they shared on Wednesday:

Central and Southern Wisconsin

Thursday and Beyond: A chance of rain/snow mix Friday PM into Saturday. Expect a mix of firm and fast to soft and spring-like thanks to warmer temps by Friday (40s by the afternoon).

Next week will remain mild with multiple days in the 40s for highs continuing spring-like conditions on the slopes.

Northern Lower Michigan

  • Nub's Nob's last scheduled day will be March 31
  • Crystal Mtn says Daily through April 1st (TBD beyond that?)
  • Boyne Mtn still says daily 9-4:30 on their ops page

Thursday and Beyond: A chance of a rain/snow mix on Saturday and again early next week. Highs in the 30s on Thursday with mainly 40s expected the rest of the week and into early next week.

Any snow that does fall on Saturday will be a wetter/thicker quality thanks to mild temps.

The next forecast will be posted on Friday - thanks for reading!
